Gryffin

Birnam Woods Too Marvelous for Words — affectionately known as Gryffin — is a stunning golden retriever with both beauty and brains. Bred by the late Silvia Donahey-Feeney, founder of Birnam Woods Golden Retrievers in California, Gryffin represents decades of thoughtful breeding focused on health, conformation, and temperament. We feel incredibly lucky to have a puppy from one of Silvia’s final litters, and Gryffin has truly lived up to the legacy.

Gryffin comes from a prestigious line of champions. His sire, Albus (Boca Gold’s Order of the Phoenix), is a decorated grand champion with titles in both conformation and hunting. Gryffin himself showed for a short time, consistently placing first in his class, winning reserve dog, Best of Breed, and even placing in the sporting group. He’s halfway to his championship title, and we hope to see him finish it soon.

But beyond the ribbons and titles, Gryffin is pure joy. He’s goofy, playful, and always eager to please — especially when treats are involved! Whether he’s chasing tennis balls, swimming, or snuggling up with the kids at bedtime, Gryffin’s loving nature and easygoing personality shine through. Owned and adored by Jamie and her family in Dallas, Texas, Gryffin is a perfect example of what a golden retriever should be.
